Cube Cyber tests the security of Australian organisations the way real attackers would, penetration testing, red team and adversary simulation, vulnerability management, attack surface reduction and security control validation. We work with organisations from small business through to enterprise and government that need to know what is actually exploitable in their environment, with findings written for the people who have to fix them.

The testing conversations we have usually start here:
Core capabilities & deliverables
Penetration testing
Network, web application, cloud, wireless and social engineering testing, scoped to your environment and obligations. Every engagement is delivered by senior testers, including OSCP-certified practitioners, and reported with reproduction steps, business impact and prioritised remediation.
Red team and adversary simulation
Goal-based exercises that emulate real attacker tradecraft against your people, processes and technology together, testing not just whether a control exists but whether your detection and response actually fire when it matters.
Vulnerability management
An ongoing, risk-prioritised program rather than a quarterly scan dump, identification, triage against exploitability and business context, and tracking through to remediation.
Attack surface reduction
Discovery and assessment of what your organisation actually exposes, forgotten subdomains, legacy services, cloud assets nobody owns, followed by a plan to shrink it.
Security control validation
Structured verification that the controls you have paid for, EDR, email filtering, segmentation, backup isolation, behave as intended against current attack techniques, mapped to MITRE ATT&CK.
Every testing engagement follows the same four-stage path:
Scope
Define objectives, systems, constraints and rules of engagement with the people who own the environment, so testing is safe, legal and aimed at the risks that matter.
Test
Execute using recognised methodologies, staying in contact throughout, and escalating immediately if a critical exposure is found rather than saving it for the report.
Report and debrief
Findings prioritised by real business risk, with reproduction steps and remediation guidance written for the engineers doing the work, plus an executive narrative for the board. Every report is walked through in a live debrief.
Retest and validate
Verification testing after remediation, closing the loop and giving you evidence that the exposure is actually gone, not just ticketed.
Testing is aligned to recognised methodologies and frameworks including OWASP, MITRE ATT&CK, and ACSC guidance, and supports obligations under the Essential Eight, ISO 27001, APRA expectations and SOCI. Testing of operational technology environments follows OT-safe methods, because a testing tool that knocks over a production system is a finding about the tester, not the system.
Frequently asked questions
A vulnerability scan is automated, it identifies known weaknesses by signature and produces a list. A penetration test is human-led, a skilled tester chains weaknesses together, bypasses controls and demonstrates real impact. Scans are useful hygiene; tests tell you what an actual attacker could do. If a proposal is priced like a scan and titled like a test, it is a scan.
At least annually, and after significant change, new applications, infrastructure moves, mergers or major cloud migrations. Regulated environments and certification regimes often set the floor. For fast-changing environments, continuous approaches such as vulnerability management and attack surface monitoring fill the gaps between tests.
Testing is scoped with rules of engagement to protect production, and destructive techniques are only ever used with explicit agreement in isolated environments. For operational technology, we use passive and OT-safe methods, with more than 10 years' experience in OT environments where availability is non-negotiable.
A report with an executive summary, risk-prioritised findings, reproduction steps and specific remediation guidance, delivered in a live debrief with the testers, and a retest to validate fixes. Findings are written to be acted on rather than filed.
Yes. Red team and adversary simulation engagements test whether your monitoring, whether an internal team or our own SOC, detects and responds to real tradecraft. Control validation exercises do the same for individual controls, mapped to MITRE ATT&CK techniques.
